9.10 Parent Handbook

We shall ensure that parents are made aware of the terms, conditions, acceptable behaviours and routines of Amberley OSHC.

Relevant Laws and other Provisions

The laws and other provisions affecting this policy include:

Procedures

A parent handbook shall be developed by Amberley OSHC.

The handbook will be updated at least annually or more often if required.

Parents shall be invited to participate in the development and review of the parent handbook.

Where appropriate, the ideas and suggestions made by parents and carers shall be incorporated in the handbook.

The parent handbook shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following information:

  • General information about Amberley OSHC including contact details;
  • Service philosophy and goals;
  • Overview of policy and procedures;
  • Enrolment and orientation;
  • Communication processes and protocols;
  • Child protection;
  • Photographs and images;
  • Priority of access and non-discriminatory access;
  • Record keeping;
  • Confidentiality;
  • Parent code of conduct;
  • Staffing arrangement;
  • Concerns, complaints and suggestions;
  • Arrivals and departures;
  • Late collection;
  • Child code of conduct;
  • Health and safety;
  • Illness and injury;
  • Medication;
  • Daily routines;
  • Morning and afternoon tea;
  • Lunch/menus (where applicable);]
  • Behaviour management;
  • Damage to equipment facilities;
  • Students, visitors and volunteers;
  • Excursions;
  • Transport;
  • Clothing;
  • Babysitting by staff;
  • Programming;
  • Personal effects;
  • Child transport in staff vehicles;
  • Payment of fees;
