Procedures

The Nominated Supervisor and service (certified) supervisor must meet the requirements/conditions of the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and Regulations 2011 in being designated by the approved provider to act in that role and in providing consent to do so.

The Nominated Supervisor has specific obligations under the National Law and therefore informed consent to act in that role is required.  The approved provider will make available to the Nominated Supervisor relevant information so that they clearly understand those obligations prior to attaining consent.

The service (certified) supervisor may be placed in day to day charge of the service by the approved provider in the absence of the approved provider or the Nominated Supervisor.   The approved provider will make available to the service (certified) supervisor relevant information so that they clearly understand those obligations prior to attaining consent.  This information is provided in accordance with the expectations of policy 10.22 – Determining the Responsible Person.

A Supervisor Certificate allows the person to whom it is issued, with their written consent, to be placed in the day to day charge of an approved education and care service, either as the Nominated Supervisor or when the Nominated Supervisor is absent from Amberley OSHC.

Application for a Supervisor Certificate may be made:

  • In writing to the Regulatory Authority, including the prescribed fee;
  • By an individual over 18 years of age; and
  • In the jurisdiction which they currently, or intend to, reside in.

Applicants for a Supervisor Certificate must satisfy the Regulatory Authority that they:

  • Are a fit and proper person to be a supervisor of an education and care service;
  • Meet the prescribed minimum for qualifications, experience and management capability;
  • Management of Amberley OSHC will seek written consent from a designated Certified Supervisor to take on the role of the Nominated Supervisor for Amberley OSHC, as per legislated requirements for Service Approval.
